Changes to the Federal Immigrant Investor Program have been
announced on June 26, 2010. They will come into force on the day on
which they are registered. The main amendments are:
- An increase of the mandatory investment from C$400,000 to
C$800,000
- An increase of the required net worth from C$800,000 to
C$1,600,000
An administrative pause for new files under the current
Regulations applies. Only files received prior to June 26, 2010 or
post-marked prior to June 26, 2010 will be accepted.
The Québec Immigrant Investor Program will harmonize its program
with the investment and net worth criteria. However, files are
still accepted under the current Regulations for the Québec
Immigrant Investor Program.
